Care & upkeep

Low fuss coat. High output body.

Grooming is straightforward. Keeping joints, mind, and metabolism matched to the work is the real care plan.

What “easy coat” still requires

  1. 01

    Coat & shed cycles

Short double coat. Weekly brush most of the year; daily during seasonal blowouts. Bath only when needed — the coat is weather-built.

  2. 02

    Ears, nails, teeth

Check ears after dusty runs. Trim nails every 2–4 weeks. Dental care matters for a breed that heels with its teeth.

  3. 03

    Fuel for the engine

Active working dogs need quality protein and measured portions. Adjust calories to real output, not wishful walks.

  4. 04

    Health watchlist

Ask breeders about PRA, deafness, hip dysplasia, and elbow scores. Longevity is strong when genetics and lifestyle align.
